Nalin M. Saliba and Naseeb M. Saliba II, were born on March 2nd, 2016 at Cedars Sinai Medical center in Los Angeles. They were born prematurely at 28 weeks and 2 days gestational age, 82 days early of their target due date which was May 23rd, 2016.
Following their birth, Nalin and Naseeb were treated in the Cedars Sinai Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for 61 and 96 days respectively. By the grace of God, Nalin and Naseeb were born without any defect or major complications, just 82 days early and in need of intensive care to be allowed to grow and mature.
The experience of premature birth is scary and alarming for any parent. For Nalin and Naseeb’s parents, Piya and Trevor, it was life changing. With multiple daily visits to the NICU for three months, not only did Piya and Trevor experience first hand the amazing Cedars Sinai NICU team, but became acquainted with other NICU parents, some of whom were lucky with babies that were healthy, but some who had babies who had serious complications as a result of their premature birth. Nalin and Naseeb are growing to be healthy, happy, and smart boys, they are truly a bundle of miracles.
This experience was the driving force behind Piya’s desire to help other mothers undergoing similar situations. We want you to know that you are not alone. We will do what we can to provide resources, information, and guidance through this difficult time.
